About NJPE

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles (NJPE) is home to over 800 boys and girls from the ages of 4 to 18 participating in our hockey organization. We are proud to offer both boys and girls travel and house hockey programs for all ages.

NJPE offers hockey from house, house select, tier III (A) travel, state and national bound tier II (AA) boys, along with girls state and national bound tier I (AAA) and tier II (AA) travel teams. T

Our Instructional Program is where it all begins. This was the fifteen year we offered an equipment loan program - the only one in the area, where at the beginning of each season we loan equipment to boys and girls. This provides a one of a kind opportunity for boys and girls to experience hockey.

Now in its fourth year, NJPE has developed one of the premier American Development Model (ADM) 8U mite programs in the area. For the second season, the our 8U Mites will be a participant in mite Jamborees. The mite jamborees, are supported by organizations of WNYAHL, and have become very successful. NJPE was a leader helping to form and organize the jamboree league. The jamborees are built upon fun, continued skill development, and provide an opportunity to experience local competition.

NJPE has placed a priority on the development of the growth our of girls hockey program. To date there are over forty girls participating in the U12/U10 house girls division.

Annually, NJPE hosts two National Tier II tournaments at Dwyer Arena. These tournaments are our biggest fundraisers, as they fund and promote the growth of our organization. Revenues generated go to supporting our National bound teams, goalies clinics, instructional hockey equipment, and allow the organization to provide the most affordable in-house registration fees in WNY.

NJPE continues to host “Try Hockey for Free Day”, receiving assistance from the NU women’s club hockey team. In 2014 & 2015 the organization has been nationally recognized by USAH, “for growing the game of hockey”.

NJPE continues to build upon the unique relationship with the University of Niagara, an opportunity few organizations have. Niagara University’s Men’s D1 hockey team volunteers many hours by supporting summer camps, coaching assistance, and on-ice help for both travel and house divisions.

On behalf of Travel President, Jason Devald, and House President, Melissa Udy, I would like to say thank you to the Travel Board, House Board, coaches, and parents who volunteer countless hours. Your dedication and support of NJPE allows us to be one of the most respected and finest hockey organizations in the area.
