WE WILL NEED COACHES & ASSISTANT COACHES IN ALL DIVISIONS & DIVISION DIRECTORS

House Coaches:  If you are chosen to be head coach or an assistant coach for a house team in the fall, you need to register with USA Hockey and complete an on-line coaching screening application (good for two years), both must be completed before you can go on the ice. You will also need to complete several other items (see below). Please provide our organization with a copy of all confirmations.

USA HOCKEY – Coaching Certification
USA Hockey will be host a coaching clinic at Niagara University, in the fall, dates to be announced.

These classes are required for anyone wishing to be a head coach or an assistant coach.  All coaches must have the required certification level by January 1 of the current season. All coaches must enter USA Hockey’s Coaching Education Program at Level 1, and must continue their education each year until, at a minimum, they achieve Level 3. A coach may attend only one certification clinic per year (not including age-specific requirements). Coaches who do not coach in continuous years must re-enter the program at the next level when they resume coaching responsibilities. Once Level 3 is achieved, periodic renewal is required (every 2 years, renew only twice) for coaches who have not achieved Level 4.

In addition to the paragraph above, coaches must also complete age-specific training components specific to the level of play they are coaching, if they have not already taken that component. This requirement applies to all coaches at all levels, 1 through 5. Coaches may complete more than one age-specific component in any given season. If you are required to take the Level 4 certification, you will need to contact Marc prior to registration.

Any NJPE coach or assistant coach [mite through bantam divisions] may have ½ of their total fees for Coaching Certification (USA Hockey, CEP Clinic, Online Module, Screening) reimbursed by the house division. Submit a copy of your paid receipt(s) and the coaching reimbursement form to your respective [divisional director], no later than January 15, 2017.

ALL COACHING CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETE BY NOVEMBER 30TH 2016.  FAILURE TO COMPLETE CERTIFICATIONS MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF ON ICE/ON BENCH COACHING.
